(thats VLM/VLE, whatever it may be) install files to a dir you can remember (if you already ran the *.exe then you have to run it again after you have moved the files to another destination directory, you can e ither make it run and create the shortcuts by specifying /shortcuts on the command line in cmd prompt OR you can do it by hitting 7 at the main menu of the program) disable automatic updates: automatic update is in system properties->automatic updates OR start menu->settings->control panel->Administration tools-> Computer Management->Services->Automatic Updates disable that just in case! run the *.exe included in the archive, read the help that it provides in th e program, then use the windows update fix when you understand what can/will/may happen. A fix that works... (This should be the final release) Many thanks tset and voo100 for creating the fix, and to vo o100 for the original idea and concept... Many apologies for releasing a non-working fix a few weeks ago. Make sure you read the help section inside the program for some questions and answers (on the main menu press 2) or if you need pictures press 0 a t the main menu. I added another option inside the program to fix your installation date to today's date, it works, but there is no real reason for it, in the future, it may be used for other means; we will have to see... o------------------- I N S T A L L N O T E S -----------------------------o -> Un-archive compressed file. (Most likely already done) [Unrar, unace, etc] -> Move all files to a place where you want them to be stored. (Up to yo u) -> Run "w2k3wuv5.exe" in the directory where you installed it in. Choose ANY help option in the program to make sure you understand everything . If you do not do this then you are considered an idiot and I don't help idiots. And for the illiterate, we have pictures. -First time running the program: When you are done reading all the crap you can choose option #9 at the main menu and it will do the windows update fix for you and auto load Internet Explorer with the website for windows update, once you are don e downloading updates and specifically told windows update that you don't want to restart your machine (hit cancel) and closed the browser window my program will auto close itself for your convenience, please refer to the next section "second time running the program" for info on shortcuts. -Second time running the program: Well if you had previously ran this program and used the windows update fix, you will already have two short cuts (or you should have) on your start menu and also on your desktop, they are called "Windows Update Fixed V5", if you use these short cuts everythi ng will be done automatically and you don't even have to remember where you inst alled this fix into.
